Doug Buresh has been named as President and CEO of Kentucky Municipal Energy Agency. Buresh is responsible for creating, communicating and implementing the agency’s vision, mission, and overall direction on behalf of its municipal electric utility members. As President and CEO, Buresh directs and evaluates the work of KYMEA’s staff.
Buresh has worked in the power industry for the past three decades concentrating in the areas of integrated resource planning, strategic planning, market price forecasting, fuel procurement, risk assessment, and public policy. Doug is a frequent speaker and subject matter expert and has provided testimony regarding integrated resource planning and market price forecasting.
Buresh holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nebraska, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University, and a Master of Business Administration from Rockhurst University. He and his wife, Beth, reside in Louisville. They have one son.
